Electric Kawasaki:

During the Carbon Fiber Electric Motorcycle build I learned a few things. The biggest problem was motor placement. The second problem was that Carbon Fiber was hard to work with causing the frame to have many weak points which I had to reinforce with metal plating.

I decided to repurpose the components from that project and fit them to a rolling Kawasaki frame I found for $200. This was the easiest way to fix the old problems and have something reliable to ride. I started by welding a motor mount. Then I did some testing with different gear ratios. I tested a 60mph sprocket, although the acceleration was pretty slow, so I ended up settling with a 40mph sprocket. After that was just aesthetics. Made a battery case, housed the controller in the gas tank, and made a custom fender. I'd like to get a bigger battery moving on, and possibly use a transmission so I don't have to compromise between acceleration and top speed.
